Governance

CPS is governed by an Executive Committee that is composed of highly experienced professionals from various disciplines.  A finance sub committee oversees the financial management of the organization and the treasurer acts as the internal auditor.  The organization has well developed systems for human and resource management. Financial policies are in place to control all expenses in the organization.  An Annual General Meeting is held to project future activities review audited accounts and elects the Executive Committee every consecutive year.
The day to day management of the Society is overseen by a full time director who works closely with a management team of professionals.


Strategic Focus

The organization developed a new strategy to guide the organization. It covers the period 2011-2013. In summary, it focus on the expansion of programmes  to new geographical areas and has a fundraising strategy to broaden the resource base of the organization.

Strategic objectives
  • Refocusing of the CPS programming on vulnerable children below 18 years to facilitate the transition from childhood through youth to adulthood.
  • Operationalising an exit strategy for those “children”  already above 18 years.
  • Adopting a family centered approach in all programmes and interventions.
  • Growing and expanding the business of CPS beyond its traditional physical boundaries and services.

Staffing

  • The organization has a full time Director who works closely with a management team of four. The staff complement is 29 and the organization has a pool of 95 community based volunteers as well  as 10 professional volunteers.  
  • Annual plans and reviews are carried to foster team work.
